1 Q: Who installs the scoreboard(s)?
A: About 50% of the time Paul S. Leskew & Associates arranges the installation, but often the user will contact a local contractor or electrician to do the job.
2 Q: What do I do if I need service on my scoreboard?
A: Call the Nevco Service Department in Orillia, ON at (800) 461-8550, from Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM.
3 Q: Can more that one Nevco Scoreboard be operated together?
A: Yes, with a Nevco MPC full function control, two or more scoreboards can be operated in synchronization.
4 Q: Can I upgrade my wired scoreboard to wireless technology?
A: In most cases, yes. A wireless control and receiver would have to be purchased, and in some situations, a new module would also be required. Check with our service department for compatibility by calling (800) 461-8550.
5 Q: Does it matter where I install an outdoor scoreboard?
A: Generally, it is ideal to install an outdoor scoreboard in the south or west end of the field/diamond for best daytime visibility. With Nevco's new outdoor LED scoreboards, location is not an issue, as the "super bright" outdoor LEDs can be read under any conditions.
6 Q: Can you refurbish my old Nevco scoreboard with new LED technology?
A: No, Nevco does not refurbish older scoreboards and does not recommend it. The cost of retrofitting a scoreboard is around 80% of the cost of buying new. Plus, joining old technology with new technology will invariably lead to breakdowns. It is not worth the cost to put some new electronics in an old casing. Buying new would guarantee CSA Approval and UL Listing, 5-year warranty and many years of worry-free operation.
7 Q: Can an LED message system be used outside as well as inside?
A: There are specific models for outdoor use and specific models for indoor use.
